How do I register to play football?
The Wolverines are one of three fine football organizations in Sherwood Park. We encourage everyone to check out all the teams before registration so that, when you finally decide which one to play for, the choice that you make will be the right choice for you.
We suggest that you:
- Ask the coach if the team guarantees playing time every game during the season.
- Ask the coach if your opinion on the position you play will be considered.
- Ask past and current players how much playing time every player receives.
- Consider the experience, quality and philosophies of the coaching staff.
- Compare each team's commitments and philosophies.
- Fair playing time for each player during games; we guarantee that all Wolverines will play in every regular season, exhibition, and tournament game.
- Open competition for all positions; no reserved positions for veterans.
- Experienced NCCP-certified coaches. (National Coaching Certification Program)
- All players encouraged to learn more than one position.
- Top-notch equipment and uniforms.
- Focus on skills development, from basic to advanced, throughout the year.
- Positive reinforcement and constructive criticism.
- Registration cheque made payable to "Wolverines Football." For fees, see the Bantam or Midget Registration pages.
- Post-dated cheque made payable to "Wolverines Football" for the refundable equipment deposit. Deposit cheque will be returned when equipment and uniforms are returned at season's end in good condition; normal wear-and-tear allowed, of course.
- For Midget, a cheque for the refundable fundraising deposit, which will be returned when your fundraising commitments are met.
- Photocopy of player's Birth Certificate and Alberta Health Care Card.
- Photocopy of year-end (June of the current football season) Report Card if required by CDMFA regulations to verify player eligibility.
